This is a strong message you delivered in this poem Deanne! Lying has become so normalized in our world, that people don't give it a second thought. And you brought up an excellent point about Santa Claus. I'm grateful my parents never believed in lying to their children about this. They told us the truth from at an early age. My parents believed in leading by example. How can they tell us not to lie....and yet they do it themselves? This is something more parents need to think about. Parents are the first teachers and the children are watching very carefully.
